Matt Olinger, CPA
Matt Olinger developed an early interest in understanding the language of business, which led him to pursue a career in accounting. That curiosity evolved into a passion for helping others navigate complex financial decisions. Today, he leverages his background in tax and finance to guide clients through economically challenging situations and help them work toward financial confidence.
In his role, Matt goes beyond tax preparation to provide thoughtful, approachable guidance. He helps clients make sense of multifaceted financial scenarios, particularly those involving taxable events, and helps integrate tax considerations into broader financial plans.
Matt holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance, as well as a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. During graduate school, he gained valuable experience in hedge fund accounting, where he spent two years performing month-end close processes and preparing NAV packages for investors. He later transitioned into public accounting, where he prepared tax returns and conducted financial and operational audits for individuals and small businesses. During this time, he earned his CPA designation and developed a strong foundation in navigating the evolving landscape of tax regulations and GAAP compliance.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and creating meaningful experiences with his family. He also engages his creative side through writing, drawing, and building new ideas. In his downtime, he enjoys reading—particularly fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels—and staying active through a wide range of games, from chess and card games to recreational sports and video games. Matt has fun being competitive, social, and active (whether physically or mentally).
